Virginia community association law
VirginiaHOA & condo statutes
Virginia's Property Owners Association Act and Condominium Act govern the dense DC-metro suburban HOA belt. Both carry detailed resale certificate requirements and mandatory disclosure obligations.
Virginia requires a licensed community association manager
Unlike most states, Virginia regulates the CAM profession. Managers are credentialed by the Virginia Common Interest Community Board (DPOR) as a Common Interest Community Manager under Va. Code § 54.1-2346 et seq.. Boards should confirm their manager holds a current credential.
