What the law requires
Under the Condominium Property Act a member may make a written request to examine association records, and a failure to comply within ten business days of receiving it is deemed a denial. The Common Interest Community Association Act carries its own records provision for communities governed by that act, alongside its meeting requirements.
What it means for boards & managers
Which act governs the community decides the deadline, so establish that first. Log the receipt date of every written request; the clock runs from receipt, not from when the board next meets.
