A few resources that keep coming up in conversations with boards and managers: Peter Dunbar's "The Condominium Concept" is the closest thing Florida has to a plain-English legal primer for officers and directors, now in its 17th edition. Marcy Kravit's "Common Sense Community Leadership" and "Common Sense Community Management" cover the practical, people side of the job that statutes do not touch.
Also worth knowing about: the Florida Communities Certification Association (FCCA), a newer independent nonprofit offering tiered ratings (gold, silver, bronze) for condo associations on compliance and operational readiness, aimed at the post-2023 reform landscape. Not a statutory requirement, but it is gaining traction as a way for associations to demonstrate they are ahead of the new inspection and reserve requirements rather than scrambling to catch up.
What resources have actually helped your board, especially anything state-specific outside Florida?
