What the law requires
The Common Interest Development Open Meeting Act governs how the board meets, what may go to executive session, and the notice owners are owed. A separate article defines association records and enhanced association records, the inspection rights members have in them, and what may be withheld or redacted.
What it means for boards & managers
Two different regimes are in play and they are often confused. What the board may discuss behind closed doors and what a member may later inspect are answered by different sections, and the answer to one does not settle the other.
