Florida Board Member Certification Requirements
Under Florida Statutes Chapters 718, 719, and 720, newly elected or appointed board members must complete a board certification course within 90 days of taking office. Chapter 718
Condominium Associations
Board members must certify in writing that they have read the association’s declaration, articles of incorporation, bylaws, and rules, OR complete a DBPR-approved certification course.
Chapter 719
Cooperative Associations
Board members must certify in writing that they have read the association’s governing documents OR complete a DBPR-approved certification course.
Chapter 720
Homeowners’ Associations
Board members must certify in writing that they have read the association’s governing documents OR complete a DBPR-approved certification course.
